Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
NameWheel.top ("we", "us", or "this website") provides a free online wheel of names and related spinner tools. This Privacy Policy explains what information we do — and, more importantly, do not — collect when you use our website, and the rights you have under laws such as the GDPR and the CCPA.
1. The short version
- Your entries, settings and results never leave your device. All wheel rendering, spinning and storage happens locally in your browser.
- We do not require an account, email address or any personal information to use the tools.
- We do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels or analytics profiles.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal data with anyone.
2. Information we do not collect
Because every tool on this website runs client-side (in your browser), we never see, receive, store or process:
- the names, prizes or other entries you add to your wheel;
- your spin results or winners history;
- your wheel settings (colors, weights, spin time);
- your name, email address or contact details (unless you email us voluntarily).
3. Information processed automatically
3.1 Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server (Nginx) automatically records standard technical log entries when pages are delivered: IP address, date and time, requested URL, HTTP status code, bytes transferred, referrer and user-agent string. These logs are used solely to operate, secure and debug the service (for example, detecting abuse or server errors) and are rotated automatically. We do not combine log data with other data sources.
Legal basis under GDPR: our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website (Art. 6(1)(f)).
3.2 Local storage in your browser
The website stores a few preferences in your browser's localStorage: your wheel entries and settings, your winners history, and the language you selected. This data never leaves your browser (unless you yourself share a wheel link), contains no information that identifies you to us, and can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser data.
3.3 Shared wheel links
When you click "Share wheel", your wheel configuration is encoded directly into the link itself (in the part after #, which browsers do not send to servers when loading a page). Anyone you give that link to can see the entries it contains — treat shared links like the lists they hold.
3.4 Cookies
We do not set any cookies. If third-party advertising (such as Google AdSense) is enabled on this website in the future, such vendors may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites, and you will be able to opt out via the links in Section 6.
4. Third-party content
This website loads no third-party fonts, scripts, analytics or trackers. The only network requests it makes are to our own server to deliver the page, its styles and its scripts. All wheel functionality works fully offline after the page has loaded.
5. Your rights under GDPR (European users)
If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — request confirmation of whether we hold personal data about you and obtain a copy;
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected;
- Erasure ("right to be forgotten") — have your data deleted;
- Restriction & objection — restrict or object to processing based on legitimate interests;
- Portability — receive data you provided in a machine-readable format;
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
Since we collect no accounts and no wheel content, the only personal data we could hold is a server-log IP address or an email you sent us. To exercise any right, email guichenli86@gmail.com; we respond within 30 days.
6. Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California residents)
California residents have the right to:
- Know what categories of personal information we collect, use, disclose or sell;
- Delete personal information we hold about you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information;
- Non-discrimination for exercising any of these rights.
Our practices: we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The only category of personal information potentially collected is internet activity data in standard server logs (see Section 3.1). To make a verifiable consumer request, email guichenli86@gmail.com.
7. Children's privacy
This website is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Since no registration exists and all wheel content stays in the browser, using the tools involves no disclosure of personal information to us by any user of any age. Teachers who use the wheel with a class roster do so entirely on their own device.
8. Data security
The website is served exclusively over HTTPS. Because your entries and results are processed entirely on your own device and are never transmitted to us, the most sensitive content you handle never crosses the network at all.
9. International visitors
The website is hosted in the United States. By using the website you understand that standard server logs are processed there. No other transfer of your personal data takes place because we collect none through the tools.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, if advertising is enabled). The "Last updated" date above always shows the current version. Material changes will be announced on this page.
